Paul Wall is back and better than ever with his new mixtape International Hustle presented by DJ Cruzito of Germany. I have to completely show my bias and say that this is the jamminest mixtape that I’ve heard in a long while. I’m really feeling it because Paul and his featured artists are really showing that screwed up swag that H-Town is known for. A lot of people hate on the candy paint, grills, and other native H-Town cultures, but for those who like that style and can care less what a hater says, then this mixtape is a must have. The second best thing about it is that it’s 100% FREE. All you have to do is fill out a quick questionnaire and it’s yours.
Once again, I’m real glad that Paul kept it straight Screwston. I think that one of the reasons that folks were saying that H-Town fell off was because the artist bought into the hype that people outside their borders wouldn’t support them talking about slabs, popping trunks, and sipping syrup. Many regions lose their steam like that, but my belief is that if your regional buzz got you major label deals and your music naturally made its way around the nation, then why change up the winning recipe. That’s what made everyone like you. It was those hating ass east coast critics doing most of the hating, but on the flipside there were many east coast fans who loved that Texas style for what it was. That’s my opinion, but who gives a damn.
Hailing from the north side of Houston, Paul Wall first came up in the music game through appearances on mixtapes by Swisha House. He then went on to Paid N Phull records to release a group album with Chamillionaire and later a solo album. He rose to national attention via his appearance on Mike Jones smash hit Still Tippin. That song, among others, put a huge spotlight on H-Town and Paul Wall capitalized tremendously, by releasing his platinum effort The Peoples Champ for which he returned to the Swisha House label.

Shreveport rapper and Lava House record label owner Anthony Mandigo, a pioneer in the Ratchet City movement has been sentenced to life in prison.
This stems from his arrest which was made in March of this year when he attempted to sell crack to an undercover police officer in west Shreveport, La. Police found two and a half ounces of crack on Mandigo. In a later search of his apartment, officers found another half kilo of crack and powder cocaine. When arrested, Mandigo had his 11 year old daughter in the car with him.
Mandigo rapped under the moniker Mr. Mandigo, and The Ratchet King found regional success with his hit record Do the Ratchet and Pass Me Some Water, the former featured Lil Boosie. He and his label appeared in XXL magazine and also had a deal with Polo Grounds Music, which is the label home of Hurricane Chris, whose hit song A Bay Bay featured Lava House artist Angie Locc on the remix.

The forever outspoken DJ Chuck T, who vehemently opposed Barack Obama and as a result made headlines on major media outlets such as Mtv and even SouthernRapNews.com (click here to read his interview), has cast his vote for none other than Barack Obama.
Was he being a hypocrite? Did he have some type of awakening, or something else? We’ll let you judge for yourself. In a statement released by DJ Chuck T, he explains his actions.
“After traveling 3 hours back home to Charleston, SC to vote and waiting in line for close to 4 hours I have officially cast my vote for the 2008 Presidential Election and voted for Barack Obama and Joe Biden of the Democratic Party as my choice for President and Vice President of the United States Of America. Now I know some of you may be saying that my views concerning Barack Obama were all a “stunt” or a ploy to gain attention but I stand firm in my beliefs that Barack Obama is not and CAN NEVER BE be the 1st African American President. Barack Obama is just as much as a white man as he is a black man regardless of whatever crazy or trumped up “rules” that society has in place to determine the “real” race of bi-racial people. The FACTS say that he’s 50% White and 50% Black and that will never change. Therefore he can NOT be the 1st African American President. It doesn’t even make any sense to my why black people are trying to make him something he’s not, but that’s not even important right now.
Regardless of all of that, I assessed both Candidates policies and proposals for change in the US Government and they really didn’t seem too different. I watched the debates and both Candidates did well and presented good ideas for improving our economy, environment, and education situations. The main reason why I chose to vote for Barack Obama is because THE THOUGHT ALONE OF SARAH PALIN RUNNING THIS COUNTRY IF JOHN MCCAIN DIES is enough to have anyone cringe! That racist dingbat is the WORST! John McCain is over 70 years old and his time is winding down here on earth. The job of being the President of the United States Of America takes a tremendous toll on EVERYONE who has ever held the office and I personally feel that John McCain has a good chance of not being able to handle that task and remain in good health. I never thought anyone would or could be worse than George Bush as far as administrative duties are concerned but once Sarah Palin started opening her mouth after the Republican National Convention I think she takes the cake! WHAT A FUCKIN’ CLUELESS IDIOT!
I also didn’t vote for McCain because he’s gone against the Republican Party on one too many occasions and his peers aren’t very fond of him. With the Democrats controlling both Houses and the Republicans not really feelin’ Johnny Mac I really dont see him getting anything accomplished whether its good or bad. I would’ve liked to see him win because he’s tried quite a few times and it would be an good goal for him to achieve before he kicks the bucket but now is not the time for that. We need change and we need it fast and Barack Obama is the better man for the job. Call me a hypocrite if you want to, but one thing a responsible adult has to able to do is put his personal feelings aside for the sake of making the RIGHT decision. Lets tune in to the local news and see who wins!”
We can’t wait to see what you all think of this. With all due respect to DJ Chuck T, it’s nice to see him truly weighing his options with the issues and not race only like so many voters on both sides of the race lines.

Hailing from Society Hill, SC, A.Y. a.k.a. SCKIDBIGG is poised to make some major noise in the music game. “A lot of people spend their whole life trying to find their passion, I found mine early,” he says. “I was put on this Earth to rap.”
A.Y. doesn’t have your typical “rapper” story. He knew his father, although he admits that they didn’t have the best relationship. He’s an admitted mama’s boy as a result of her instilling her strong hardworking ways into him and his siblings. He didn’t sell drugs, because was more interested in sports and music, but he was keenly aware of his poor community that helped raise him.
A.Y.’s love of hip hop was birthed when his mother uprooted him and his family to Brooklyn. Listening to music and watching the famed Video Music Box regularly with his sister introduced him to Black Moon’s classic hit Who Got The Props is what A.Y. says turned him out to the rap game. However it was after seeing Outkast, or more specifically Andre 3000, on Rap City that caused the youngster to pen his first rhyme that he spit at the lunchroom table days later that brought unforgettable accolades from his classmates.
He eventually made his way back to SC where he’s on a mission to make a major dent in the music industry. He’s currently pushing his single Freeze Flow that can be downloaded below.
A.Y. - Freeze Flow
